   This is a nicely done shockwave. Very reminiscent of the TF Prime Shockwave figure in general terms, but does have a strong BB movie look to it. Transformation strikes a nice balance between functionality and simplicity. Everything clips together nicely and produces a decent tank mode. The only thing I’d really like to see changed would be the addition of some little pin wheels on the underside of the tank treads. Just so I don’t have to push and scrape it across surfaces.

   The movie aesthetic does make it stand out when stood next to the G1 and Beast Wars core figures released previously. But hopefully we’ll see more live action movie characters released in this scale to compliment it.

   Fans would have wanted a larger toy of this figure first, but given the circumstances this was mainly a purchase out of curiosity for me, given that this is my first SS figure not based on the 86 movie and also first core class figure in this line. For the most part, this is a pretty charming figure who does well for the budget. Sadly the leg articulation here’s restricted due to the leg transformation taking priority, but on the other hand the two poses this version of Shockwave is iconic for (relatively) can be recreated for display purposes. Forced perspective is required for taking photos until a figure of this design in Voyager class is produced.

   Worth an impulse purchase if you’re curious.

   With a cool design in both tank and robot mode. Studio Series Core Shockwave is a great pocket toy have and play with.
