Siege Ironworks. Well what can I say.
I think this is a fantastic modern update to the G1 Micromaster character.
Originally he was a small robot that transformed into a long nosed semi truck cab that came with a transforming base.
The base was a construction type, that transformed into a tower with a satellite dish.
Now he is a deluxe sized robot that actually now turns into the base itself. How cool is that.
His transformation is part forming so he can be attached to other transformers as weapon/armour upgrades via 5mm ports and holes.

Without a doubt the best deluxe class in his wave, with a cool altmode and interactive features with other earthrise toys .Transformers ironworks is a must have for fans. 5 stars.

Ironworks was my favourite Micromaster Base as a child, so this had a lot to live up to. I was initially sceptical about the apparent lack of an attack base mode and the omission of the iconic windmill.
Figure in hand though, it is superb. The paint effects on the yellow sections give it a realistic worn look. The base mode is functional. The armour combinations successfully continue the fun of the Siege Weaponisers. The robot looks great and I always like to see brand new robot designs instead of the same G1 characters churned out over and over. Whilst not in the instructions, a battle base mode can be achieved which means this has 4 modes (outside of any fan configurations).
I admit I bought a 2nd one of these after I opened the first. Linking the two together in varying formations is intensely satisfying and gives all the micromasters a place to be displayed.
I’m really looking forward to more of these updated bases. The only issue is trying to resist ordering more Ironworks until Airwave is released.

Basically a reimagining of the G1 Micromaster base from G1 operated by the micromaster of the same (renamed Irontrend in Siege). Pretty fun, makes for something different from the classic G1 designs as another reviewer here pointed out.
